I am a curator and a maker, working to contribute to a greener and more equitable society by encouraging sustainable living through understandings of history, craft, and the development of renewable resources. I work as an educator, advocate, innovator and craftsperson. I have recently left a position as Curator of a major maritime museum, shifting my focus from history and craft to energy.
As a curator, my practice views cultural artifacts as tools for reflection, and exhibitions as catalysts for cultural development. I look to create exhibitions and projects that use the past to enlighten our understanding of where we are, and inspire us to think about where we may go.
I am also devoted to the water and to getting out on it in traditional boats. I was raised in a restoration shop, and I have spent many hours in antique boats on the waterways in and around North America. I am a boater, a craftsman, and an artist, as well as a curator.
